| Work-Based Learning (WBL) is a powerful method for introducing K-12 students to the world of careers and the wonderful opportunities. It provides students with real-life examples of how-to-use skills learned in school in every day life and introduces students to careers that might not have been previously considered. | ||
Students want successful experiences in the workplace so they will be able to make world-of-work connections to their classroom learning. Students also want and need to experience career exploration before graduating from high school. Employers want a well-organized system for recruiting, preparing and organizing more employers to be hosts for Work-Based Learning experiences such as Workpaths.com. These experiences allow employers to interact with potential future employees and/or customers. WBL experiences also give employees a chance to work with students to demonstrate the world-of-work environment. Educators want a system that will provide equal access for their students to world-of-work information and opportunities. Teachers want their students to see hands-on work connections to the curriculum. Parents want Work-Based Learning experiences that will assist their children in making better career choices |
